WebDisk is a system that allows you to store your files on the Hopitelecom.net web server so that they are easily accessible from any Internet connected computer.
WebDisk allows you to upload and manage a personal website as well as store picture files for other Internet services such as EBay.
To access your WebDisk space you will need to go to the Hopitelecom WebMail web site http://webmail.hopitelecom.net. In addition to checking your email, this is where you manage your personal web site. You will login with your user account (ex: a9285551212) and your password. Once you are logged in you will see an icon located near the top of the page that says WebDisk, just click on this link and you will be taken to your storage space.
WebDisk makes it easy to publish Web pages.
To have a home page or web site on WebDisk you need to create an HTML file called index.html and upload it to your folder along with any other files and folders associated with it. Your web address, once you have a file called index.html in your folder will be:
http://users.hopitelecom.net/~username/ index.html.
The username is your eleven digit account number (notice it’s preceded by a tilde, the squiggly line to the left of the “1” key on most keyboards).
ex: http://users.hopitelecom.net/~a 9285551212/index.html
You can also just upload pictures for use with EBay or other web services. Simply use WebDisk to upload pictures (.jpg .tif .gif etc.) Then use this address to access your picture files:
http://users.hopitelecom.net/~username/filename
ex: http://users.hopitelecom.net/~a 9285551212/picture.jpg
You are allowed 10mb of disk space to store your pictures and files. If you happen to go over that amount you will be charged an additional charge.
How to upload files to your WebDisk.
1. Log into you WebMail account: webmail.hopitelecom.net
2. Click on the WebDisk icon located at the top of the page.
3. You must have a folder named “www” to put files you want available on the Internet. Initially, you will have to create your “www” folder. Once you are in your WebDisk type in www into the DestinedName block and click on MkDirbutton located to the left of the block. This will create a folder named “www” where you will store all your files.
4. Click on the www located below the words Filename located on the left side of the screen. This takes you to the “www” folder.
5. Click on browse and locate the file that you want to upload. Once you have found the file you want double click on it then click on the upload button.
6. Repeat step five for all the files that you want to upload to WebDisk.
7. To view the contents from your web browser type in your web address:
http://users.hopitelecom.net/~{your account name}/{filename}
Replace {your account name} with your WebMail login account. Replace {filename} with the name of the file that you want to view.
